The Energy Frame CA Partial Sidewall Construction gives you the best of both worlds: forgiveness in the tip and tail, and better edge grip underfoot. This helps for the times that the temperatures warm up and then the slopes get icy overnight. The Nordica N sport XCT binding system sits on top of the ski to give you more leverage to roll the ski on edge easier. It also evenly distributes pressure from the tip to the tail of the ski, keeping you better balance on your ski, ultimately making you a better skier. At 74mm underfoot the Amber is quick edge to edge while being able to power though some of the crud that accumulates on the busy groomers.
