In an age of phat powder rocker reverse early rise asymmetrical sidewall topsheet skis, sometimes its hard to just find a good charging front-side ski. Enter Salomon X-Wing Tornado Ti, which sports an upper 70's-mm waist (like 76-79mm depending on length of ski), is definitely wide enough to bust through crud and light powder with relative ease, but these ski's real purpose is fast times on groomed slopes. The Tornados are popular for their fantastic edge hold, and very competent dampening at high speeds (read: STABLE). The target skier here would be strong technically, and ready to rip, not necessarily 'expert,' but a good skier.
