Product Description
Leave civilization behind; take the K2 WayBack ski exploring deep into the mountains. Not for in bounds skiing, this adventure ski is lightweight for easy hiking, yet durable and stable with strong edge grip for downhill performance. The 88 mm waist on the K2 WayBack is appropriately wide enough for all but the deepest days, and at 1475 grams, the WayBack is the lightest ski in the Jans backcountry arsenal, so it's a dream for full days of touring. Shovel rocker shape and a SnoPhobic topsheet keeps the K2 WayBack ski on top of the snow and not the other way around. Pre-cut skins are available (sold separately). All Terrain Rocker - 30% rocker for agility combined with 70% camber for stability Progressive Sidecut - two different radii, or sidecuts, enhance the versatility of wider waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard snow performance. Powder-Specific Tip Design - the widest point of a powder tip is 7 cm back from the standard contact point, adding stability and predictability while making the ski less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions. Tip and Tail Holes - not only the attachments points for K2 skins, these holes also give you the ability to build a rescue sled or construct various ski anchors. The holes are equipped with removable plugs. BIO Core Tech - a blended core of aspen, bamboo, and paulownia, that has consistent density, great strength to weight ratio, and fast growth carbon sequestration. This core results in a 15% weight savings over our traditional fir/aspen cores and a reduced impact of the ski on you and the winter world. Flat Tails - provide backcountry utility by allowing you to plunge the tails easily into firm snow.
