The Hot Rod Tempest is a replacement for 2010's best selling Hot Rod Nitrous. While the Nitrous was 78 mm underfoot, the Tempest added 2 mm for a bit more versatility. This ski is aimed at the advanced to expert male who wants an all mountain quiver of one. 80 mm underfoot provides ample waist for float in powder and crud, but isn't too wide to be quick edge to edge. The XBI integrated binding with the Full Active Twin V Core keeps the edges firmly in contact with snow surface allowing you to leave trenches behind you and carry speed with confidence. Bottom line: if you are an intermediate looking to step up your game, or an expert who wants a front side oriented speed machine with all moutain cred, the Tempest is for you.
