ELP Full Rocker WHAT IT IS: A smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail with matching sidecut and flex. WHAT IT DOES: Extended Low Profile (ELP) gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. How? By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact.
Volkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.
Dual extended transmission sidewall In this new construction, reinforcement channels are aligned to support the outside of the ski, over the sidewalls and edges. This works to prevent chatter and provide a stable ride throughout the turn, regardless of snow conditions.
Extended Sensorwood Cores are created in a complex CNC milling process. The highly sophisticated milling program enables V?lkl to produce wood cores with extreme precision. They are "extended" upward and lengthwise, milled to form the chambers of the Extended Double Grip construction. The core consists of a blend of poplar and beech wood, and is found in V?lkl's highest performing models.

Power Shell Volkl's longest-running construcion, Power Construction utilizes tradional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used on the Race Stock skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this construction provides tremendous grip and stability when combined with the Sensorwood core.
Sensorwood Core Like the Extended Sensorwood Core, the Sensorwood core is CNC milled using vertically laminated poplar and beech wood
